Controlling linear motors located in hoistways spanning hundreds of meters requires extremely advanced technology. Multiple elevator cages run independently and each must be controlled individually. The L-DRIVE control system was born through numerous innovations in power electronics, communication technology, sensing technology, and feedback control technology, adopting so-called “distributed control” that does not use electric power where there is no elevator.
