Regeneration
Achieve high energy efficiency
without a counterweight.
Since the linear motor elevator is “ropelea”, ir cannot use a counter-weight like the conventional elevator. When the elevator cage rises, it supplies energy (potential energy) equivalent to the total weight. When the elevator cage descends, L-DRIVE utilizes this potential energy, and the linear motor becomes a generator and converts the potential energy into electric power. Then, this power is returned to the power system of the building by the regenerative converter unit provided in L-DRIVE. In this way, each linear motor elevator has a mechanism to “temporarily borrow and return” electricity. Furthermore, our group operation control system analyzes the movements of multiple elevators in real time and controls the operation to optimize the balance between “elevators that use electricity” and “elevators that regenerate”.
